Help Build Student Life
On February 15th SOS is putting on a new event that is focused on helping student organizations build relations between one another. This event is made to allow your organizations to meet with other orgs, and to give your orgs the chance to create working relationships with each other. We wanted to allow this opportunity to hopefully create bonds between orgs that previously did not exist, and maybe even help start ideas of co-sponsoring events to grow student life as a whole.
Nominations are Open!
The Division of Student Engagement is seeking nominations and applications for Seniors of Significance. The Seniors of Significance Award recognizes students who have excelled in scholarship, leadership, and service to the campus and community and those who have brought distinction to Lamar University.
Seniors who will graduate in May, August, or December of 2022 are eligible to be considered for recognition. A senior may apply or be nominated by a student, faculty, or staff member.
Seniors of Significance will receive recognition at the Toast to Leadership banquet, a graduation stole, and a commemorative gift. Honorees will also be featured on the LU website.
The Bess Gentry Award and the C. Robert Kemble Award recipients will be selected from the Seniors of Significance. Recipients of these two awards will each receive $1,000. Click here to nominate a senior. The nomination form closes Thursday, February 10 at 5:00 pm.
Nominate Students or Apply for the Ann Shaw Leadership Award

- fostering a spirit of teamwork;
- excellence in leadership; and
- exhibiting exemplary personal ethics and integrity.
Students may apply or be nominated by a student, faculty or staff member. The winner receives $1,000 and recognition at the Toast to Leadership Banquet.
