It shall be the purpose of this honorary organization to recognize the superior ability of students majoring or minoring in the field of dance - performing and creative artists in the BS theater & dance degree programs at Lamar University (LU) and to promote creative activities and scholarly achievements in the field of dance.

Mission
Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the National Communication Association's official honor society at four-year colleges and universities. LPH has more than 450 active chapters at four-year colleges and universities nationwide. The letters of the honor society––LPH––represents what Aristotle described in Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion: logos (Lambda), meaning logic; pathos (Pi), relating to emotion; and ethos (Eta), defined as character credibility and ethics.

Mission
We are the Lamar University chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association. We invite those pursuing a degree in Communications Sciences and Disorders and related fields to join our network. We work to advocate for those who are underrepresented, volunteer around the community, including with organizations such as the Shorkey Center and the Arc of Greater Beaumont and fundraise for specific causes pertaining to our field of interest. We also create a professional environment and learn and network with those in our profession. NSSLHA is an excellent network of Speech and Hearing professionals, working closely with the community and educational SLPs and AUDs. We facilitate and develop necessary leadership skills. We are committed to professionalism, excellence, and leadership.

Signing Cardinals is a student organization that strongly encourages Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, and Hearing people to make a difference. We provide social events every week for those who want to develop friendships through the Deaf community. We care about growing a strong bond between other people through our organization.

The Lamar Chapter of the Student Academy of Audiology volunteers in the Beaumont and surrounding areas to provide hearing screenings to our community, and education on hearing conservation. We strive to better our community, and help those in need.

Joining SAA allows students within Lamar's Doctor of Audiology to help connect with peers/professors and network with those within the field. LU's Chapter of SAA also hosts multiple fundraising and social gathering and participates in multiple volunteer opportunities that help populations we encounter within the profession.
