Lamar Student Association is a professional organization that provides professional development while still in college. Training workshops, conferences, networking, and community engagement projects include a brief list of benefits of the organization. Members of the group acquire professional liability insurance, save money on cell phones, auto insurance, shopping, dining, travel and access to TSTA and NEA's vast resources, including valuable career information and important personal contacts. Membership in TSTA-Student Program helps you make the transition from student to professional educator. NEA's website is an excellent resource for information and networking with experienced teachers.

Mission
The purpose of this organization is to promote Culinary Arts within Lamar University and the community, encourage leadership, foster professional development among members, familiarize students with culinary arts activities, provide a social outlet for LUCAA enthusiasts, and generate greater interest in cooking and food handling.

Membership Benefits
Section 1. All Lamar University students, who are officially registered, faculty and staff who are interested in Culinary Arts are eligible for membership into LUCAA.

Section 2. To be regarded as a regular member of LUCAA with voting privileges, a student must participate in at least two of the organization's sponsored functions per semester, maintain a 75% attendance record, and have good judicial standing with Lamar University.

Section 3. It is the duty of all members of the Chapter to support the Chapter’s objectives and activities. The members shall dress and act in good taste when attending either Chapter functions or other functions as official representatives of the Chapter.
