The Lamar University Chapter of SMACS is an undergraduate student organization that focuses in preparing students for better employment opportunities and in engaging and sparking interests for science in the community. It is affiliated with the American Chemical Society (ACS), a nonprofit educational and scientific organization chartered by Congress to advance the chemical enterprise and its practitioners. We are going to concentrate on outreach into the community and schools to cultivate an interest in the scientific world. This group is concentrated in the Chemistry department, but we accept all majors! You just need to have an interest in the sciences and the world around you.

Welcome to TriBeta the oldest Biological Honors Society in the United States, with the Lamar Delta Omicron Chapter dating back to the 1970s. We are all about promoting scholarship in the life sciences, which basically means helping each other get involved and stay involved in biological research while an undergrad or graduate student at Lamar University. We welcome everyone interested in biological sciences to at least become Associate Members, yet Regular Membership is reserved for Biology, Environmental Science, and Biochemistry majors. The mission of the Criminal Justice Student Association is to bring together and support students who are either Criminal Justice Majors or those interested in a career in the Criminal Justice System. We support that mission by sharing of ideas, assistance in academic matters and opening doors by our contacts in the Criminal Justice community. Part of that mission involves giving back to the Lamar and local community by participation in volunteer projects to benefit the society we plan to serve in the future. Our mission also includes educating current and future Lamar students about our criminal justice program by our commitment to honesty, integrity, equality and fairness with a commitment to our nation's Constitutional principles.

All members are required to be registered students at Lamar University/LIT.
All members must maintain a 2.5 GPA and good academic standing with Lamar University. Despite the organization being criminal justice-oriented, all majors are welcome to join. In order to officially be listed as a member all dues must be paid and attendance to meetings is required.

The purpose of this organization shall be to promote service at Lamar University's community at large, to provide for professional development of our membership. and to offer a social outlet to all those interested in the dental industry.

Membership Benefits
Section 1. All Lamar University students, who are officially registered, faculty and staff who are interested in the dental industry are eligible for membership into the Lamar University's Pre-Dental Society.

Section 2. In order to be regarded as an active member of the Lamar University's Pre-Dental Society at Lamar University with voting privileges, a student must pay in full their dues six weeks post start date of the semester, attend at least two of the meetings per semester to maintain active membership status, participation in service activities sponsored through the organization, and maintain good academic and judicial standing with Lamar University. If negligent in paying dues in full or on time, not attending the expected amount of meetings per semester, or participating in service activities sponsored through the organization, the member in question will be noted as an inactive member of the Lamar University's Pre-Dental Society at Lamar University. If a conflict arises due to Lamar University curriculum, the member in question's situation shall be reviewed by the current officers and the current officers make the ultimate decision on their active/inactive status.

Mission
The Lamar University History Club creates fun opportunities for students and faculty to nurture and enrich their passion for history and come together outside of the classroom setting. The mission of the club is to stimulate interest in all aspects of history, especially that of Beaumont and Jefferson County; to support exhibits at the Spindletop Museum; to assist the Jefferson County Historical Commission; to support the activities of the Center for History and Culture of Southeast Texas and the Gulf Coast and other local historical societies; and to work with local officials and archivists to identify and preserve local historical landmarks and documents.

The club strives to make the campus aware of the importance and relevance of the many diverse histories of human experience through trips, educational speakers, films, fundraisers, and other special events. It encourages an atmosphere of spirited, open debate in its meetings, and always seeks to advance its central goal of a better understanding of the past.

History Club membership is open to all students, regardless of major, with an interest in history and/or historical preservation. Monthly meetings are held on the second floor of Archer.
