Any male student of an accredited college may be presented as a candidate for membership in a college chapter
provided that he:
• Attends an institution where an active chapter is located (Membership is not available for individuals attending
an online university that does not have a chapter seat. Membership is only available for individuals attending the
school where the chapter seat is located.)
• Has successfully completed one semester or two quarters of a regular year's program
• Is a full-time student taking courses leading to his first academic degree
• Is in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of not less than 2.5 on a 4.0 grade point
scale or equivalent except where the minimum grade required by the college for graduation is greater; then the
minimum grade for graduation must be used for eligibility
• Is of good character
• Is registered to vote, if eligible and qualified
• Is sponsored by a member in good standing from the chapter in which the candidate is seeking membership

Section 1
All Lamar University students, who are officially registered, faculty and staff who are interested in the Bangladesh Student Association are eligible for membership into the Bangladesh Student Association at Lamar University/LIT.

Section 2
All the members of the Bangladesh Student Association are required to pay a fixed amount of annual membership fee by due date. Details on the membership fee is included in section#1 of Article VII.

Section 3
All members must maintain a 2.75 GPA or above. Failing to do so will result in automatic cancellation of the membership from the association.

Section 4
To be regarded as a regular member of the Bangladesh Student Association at Lamar University/LIT with voting privileges, a student must participate in at least three of the organization's sponsored functions over the year, maintain a 60% attendance record, and maintain good academic and judicial standing with Lamar University/LIT.

Welcome to TriBeta the oldest Biological Honors Society in the United States, with the Lamar Delta Omicron Chapter dating back to the 1970s. We are all about promoting scholarship in the life sciences, which basically means helping each other get involved and stay involved in biological research while an undergrad or graduate student at Lamar University. We welcome everyone interested in biological sciences to at least become Associate Members, yet Regular Membership is reserved for Biology, Environmental Science, and Biochemistry majors.
