This semester's fair will be on January 19, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM in the Setzer Student Center. To participate, organizations must sign up by January 18 at 2:00 PM (or until spaces are filled!).

Governor Abbott Orders Action Against TikTok
Order: On December 7, 2022, Governor Greg Abbott issued aÔÇ»directiveÔÇ»to all state agencies to immediately ban the use of TikTok on all state-issued devices including cell phones, laptops, tablets, desktop computers and other devices capable of internet connectivity. The directive also requires additional action by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Department of Information Resources to "develop a model plan that other state agencies can deploy with respect to the use of TikTok on personal devices."
Compliance: Effective January 6, IT Services implemented a network ban on TikTok. Departments must register any TikTok accounts representing LU whether managed directly or on the behalf of departments, colleges, organizations, etc. Standards for technologies prohibited by regulations will be published and the standards will be amended upon further directions from the Texas Department of Information and Resources.
Summary: This means, you can continue to access TikTok by disconnecting your personal device from the LU networks and using the cellular service or connecting your personal device to the network at Cardinal Village. You will not be able to access TikTok on any devices connected to LU networks, whether the device is LU owned or not.
Membership: As we begin this new semester, we would like to encourage you, as officers, to take the time to reconnect with members who were active during the last semester. These members have already demonstrated their commitment to the organization and can provide valuable support in the upcoming semester. In addition to reconnecting with active members, reach out to those who showed interest in the organization but were not as active or involved. This is an opportunity to engage new members and foster their involvement in the organization.
Engagement: Be sure to share information about upcoming events and activities planned for the semester. This will provide both new and returning members with an opportunity to get involved and be a part of something exciting. As you plan for these events, be sure to also look for volunteers to aid in the support of these activities. This could include assisting with event planning, marketing, and outreach, or even providing logistical support on the day of the event.
Community Involvement: As an organization, encourage your members to participate in LU activities and events, as well as civic engagement opportunities. This is a fantastic way to foster community engagement, provide a positive impact on the community, and build the connection these members have with the organization.
