About Us

The Latino Medical Student Association's mission is to unite and empower current and future physicians through service, mentorship, and education. Focusing on advocating for the improved health of the Hispanic and Latina/o/x community in the United States, is admirable and necessary. By advocating for increased representation and support for healthcare professionals from underrepresented backgrounds, we are addressing systemic barriers that have long hindered access to quality care for marginalized communities. By fostering a supportive network and providing resources and guidance, the association not only strengthens the professional development of its members but also equips them to address the unique healthcare needs of this population. Through their advocacy efforts, they contribute significantly to advancing health equity and promoting better outcomes for Hispanic and Latina/o/x individuals nationwide.
